Why are so many people here calling Spez “Spaz”? Isn’t that considered to be a slur similarly to the r-word?

It’s sad that people have gotten used to just throwing away stuff instead of repairing it. Sure, some repairs really aren’t worth it - like the screen I’d gotten replaced of my LG G3 that was prone to have this defect with its screen regardless of screen swaps and whatnot - but most of the time, it’s just minor things that can actually be fixed by non-tech savvy person.

I think it should be of paramount importance that more companies are held accountable as to the amount of waste they’re producing and how much they’re contributing to pollution and waste around the globe. Unfortunately, capitalism is a thing, so that’s not gonna happen.

Having repairable options for those that do care is awesome, though. If I could afford, I’d gladly go for a Fairphone if I ever need to replace my current phone (still going strong after 5 years of use). Until their mass appeal, they’ll likely remain out of my pockets.

Nothing I could find immediately. I found an Arch Wiki entry which shows that most features work out of the box. Not sure if that’s your exact model and can’t comment on how reliable the information presented is too.

It’s a Surface Go 2, 8GB RAM, I think - maybe 4 - and a couple years old now. Haven’t tried, actually, since I rarely if ever need the cameras. However, I read that getting the cameras to work is a bit of a hassle. Not impossible but annoying

Finally, I can proudly proclaim that I’m no longer bound Microsoft’s bullshit. Been a rocky start, but I’ve been happily using Kubuntu on my Surface for a while now, and it’s going awesome

It’s an interesting discussion. I feel like horror movies don’t come close to horror games for me, personally, as someone who doesn’t enjoy either of them. The really scary horror movies that don’t rely on jumpscares to scare the audience don’t nearly creep me out as much as playing a horror game. You’re in the driver’s seat, you’re in control, whatever happens on screen happens to you. In movies, you’re fine off usually and can just dissociate yourself from whatever is happening on screen to the characters involved. My two cents

Can definitely vouch for the 3DS family tho. Don’t have a New 3DS but have been very contempt with both my original 3DS XL and my 2DS

You know, a used Vita is definitely a vibe too. Sadly, they’re a lot more expensive, I’d wager, for similar reasons. Can it go even higher in terms of emulation?

Emulation up to N64 and Dreamcast is craaaazy for such a small size. 90€ is a pretty good-ish price. Compared to new releases, it knocks everything out of the park and offers thousands of hours of gameplay across multiple generations of console - home and portable. Pretty insane if you think about it.

Just wondering how good the screen is and the buttons feel. I think a just “ok” screen would be fine, but the gameplay would still have to be smooth and the buttons should support the gameplay

LeafGreen was sorta the first Pokemon game I’ve played. I played Silver on my brother’s GBC but didn’t get if because I was too little. Then he installed an emulator and LeafGreen on my PC and I was a happy camper
