Messaging is important. While the Republicans are saying “There’s some temporary pain, but it’ll all sort itself out in the end. We just need to get through this transition, and the tarrifs and deportations will MAGA”, there needs to be a counter-argument.

They’re (thankfully) not preaching to the choir. They’re going to Republicans and independents and explaining in these rallies that there’s an oligarchy that has taken control, made them poorer, and it will get worse.

If they can convince enough people of the real causes, they have a broader base, and potentially even some new progressives.

Personally, the game I run the most is Shadowrun. Managed to transition my DnD group to Pathfinder 2e and it’s great. Pathfinder is DnD but so much better.

While it is disappointing that it’s not actually a collective (assuming this blog post is accurate), having a platform run and owned by 6 creators is still better than YouTube’s governance structure, and still has the advantage in having both the capacity and desire to invest in creators.

An advantage of funding things via a collective like Nebula as opposed to each individual creator managing their own patrons is that new creators can start making bigger, more expensive projects quicker. Even established creators have this advantage, they can take bigger risks on bigger projects with the safety net of a share of the nebula pie.

I don’t think a project like The Prince would exist without Nebula, for example.

Playing smart or charismatic orcs is totally fine in Shadowrun, it’s not that suboptimal. You have to spend a bit more karma at the start to overcome the lower starting charisma, but it’s not bad at all.
