I think it would be interesting to tie AI into player-generated content, like in VRchat. Imagine being able to describe a room or environment and have AI immediately build it around you, then you can tweak it. It would be like the Holodeck on Star Trek.

An Asian-American acquaintance of mine is a hardcore Trump supporter and I asked him the other day if he was worried about his family being deported. His parents came here from China and became citizens years ago, so he said he’s not worried at all, because it’s only “the illegals” that are being targeted. It made me wonder if the majority of Hispanic voters feel the same way since these recent ICE raids.

This makes me wonder if DOGE is going after disability payments - I think it’s called SSI? I always thought that social security, SSI, and all of those programs were the same thing, but it seems like it’s a lot more complicated. I know a couple folks who have life-long disabilities and have never been able to work. Without those payments they would just die I guess.
I don’t think they’re trolling, this seems to genuinely be their belief and warrants discussion. The poster mentioned recently that they have autism, and as a neurodivergent person myself I can attest that it often takes some back-and-forth to realize when I’m wrong.

When I was deep in the Reddit hole I was obsessed with getting upvotes and avoiding downvotes. It was a dopamine hit. When I moved to Lemmy I joined an instance that doesn’t allow or show downvotes, and it has been a breath of fresh air.

Agreed, and to add to this, I grew up in farmland and have never met a broke farmer. These folks are typically quite wealthy thanks to massive government subsidies. Huge modern home, brand new cars, plenty of toys like ATVs. They’re not living the same life as the standard working class.
