It’s gotten so much better since 2008. Ubuntu is good for servers, but probably not what you’re looking for on a desktop. And you really don’t need to have a coding background to use it, though it also depends on your use case.
Oh I didn’t even thinking about using wildcard addresses on the fly. I’ve been using the masked email addresses, but that obviously requires forethought.
I moved over to fastmail and have been enjoying it, but I’m sure there are plenty of people who will tell me why it was the wrong choice.

I was confused at first, but it actually was pretty easy. They do need better documentation, but you start with Delta Chat and in a chat with someone (tested it with myself) you either link the downloaded file, or click apps and download it right into the chat. Then click to open.
It’s kinda cool, and now they have on boarding “email-lite” servers instead of making you configure your own email address, though that’s still an option. Don’t know anyone who uses it though.
